We are proud to announce that our Pinner Green Activity Centre and Harrow Activity Centre doubled the respite weekends on offer in 2018 and more members than ever before joined us for our supported breaks to Devon.

Our Community Support service now offers 4 Holidays to Devon and 5 Short breaks to Brentwood in Essex a year.

Our Devon trip is an opportunity for friends to spend a week away together, something many would not get to do without our holidays and the support from our staff. Our week is filled with picnics on the beach and day trips to farms, mini golf, BBQs in our cottage garden, swimming, pub lunches and so much more. Most importantly the week away is about having fun with friends.

Our short breaks run from March-September and are for 2 nights from Friday – Sunday afternoon. We offer something different from a regular short breaks service where traditionally the person receiving the support would go and stay in a house.

We stay at Thriftwood scout camp which is surrounded by woodlands. The weekend activities include woodland walks, cooking, art, games, and a BBQ followed by an evening bonfire cooking marshmallows.

One mother had this to say about our short breaks:

“Thank you for giving Nicole a lovely weekend, I can never thank you enough - she loved it so much and it was the first time I have had a weekend to myself since my divorce 10 years ago!”
