Come and join us for a Hustings event for the forthcoming local elections hosted by Harrow Mencap.  The event will take place on 1st May at St John’s The Baptist Church, Harrow (opposite Debenhams).

The Connecting Communities team have arranged a community lunch from 12 – 1 pm.  This will then be followed by the Hustings with representation from each of the candidates and the opportunity to ask questions.

Harrow Mencap Forum

The Forum for Learning Disability is the voice for people with learning disabilities, their carers and their families. It supports people to speak up on issues ranging from welfare reform, transport, voting, health and housing.

We work hard to ensure the involvement of people with learning disabilites, not just within Harrow Mencap but also within the wider community.

The Forum supports people with learning disabilities and their carers be heard both on a local and national level. We hold hustings events where politicians from all political parties can listen to and answer concerns raised by carers and people with learning disabilities.

The Forum invites professionals from transport services, health and social care and the police to come to the forum and meet with people with learning disabilities so that their needs can be better understood and services can better meet people's needs.

The Forum meets every 3 months.
