Harrow Mencap's day opportunity services are incredibly popular and have grown significantly over recent years. We now have three vibrant day services each with their own unique identity.

Pinner Green and Harrow Activity Centres

Our Pinner Green and Harrow Activity Centres provide care and support to adults with learning disabilities, supporting each person to engage in fun activities, make friends and learn new skills.

PG and HAC support people aged 18 and over.

We focus on the following areas:

  • 1:1 support for complex needs
  • Life skills
  • Health & wellbeing
  • Having fun and making friends

Cedars Day Opportunities

Cedars is an alternative to traditional day services. Offering high quality day opportunities to adults with learning disabilities.

We are located within Cedars Community Centre with our own base room called the “Hornets’ Nest”.           

The clients are the forefront of the service, they have designed and shaped cedars to meet their individual needs and push boundaries of their personal limitations. We are outcome focused, offering a platform for each client to achieve their goals and support them into independence.

Our activities are focused on:

  • Increasing opportunities to promote friendships and build support and social networks
  • Being an active member of the local community
  • Developing new skills and leadership through a variety of workshops
  • Opportunities and volunteering
  • Education and promoting health and wellbeing

Skill Up

Skill Up is an established community project that supports people with mild learning disabilities aged 16 and over.

Skill Up is here for all young people who need additional guidance to reach independence.

Children and Young People's Services

We run a wide variety of activities that children and young people can enjoy while learning to become more independent.

Our clubs are open to children and young people both with and without additional needs aged 5-25 living in and around Harrow starting from £5 per session.

Our activities include:

  • After School Clubs
