Through June and July, as part of our 70th anniversary celebrations Harrow Mencap ran a month of fundraising events to encourage local businesses and the public to raise funds for people with learning disabilities in Harrow and the surrounding areas. Over 100 different activities took place with no less than 30 special community events over the period.

The Big Launch

On 26th June Gareth Thomas MP, launch’s our fundraising month in Harrow at Tesco Superstore along with Emma, James and Tesco’s Store Manager and staff.

Also on the 26th the Mayor of Hillingdon, Carol Melvin opens the Month at Waitrose, Northwood along with Charles, David and Jeremy

In total we raised an amazing £15,093

7 new volunteers

Worked with lots of new organisations and community groups – this has resulted in new activities which will run through the year

More and more people have joined our big happy family of friends.
