The government are having a consultation because they want to make sure that health and social care staff get the best training to understand the right ways to support people with learning disabilities and autism. 

This means they want you to have your say about their plans to introduce mandatory training about learning disabilities and autism for health and care staff.

The government want to know what people think about their plans for:

  • the information in the training.
  • how they give the training.
  • how to get people with a learning disability or autistic people involved in the training.
  • how to check if the training has worked.
