The Jack Petchey Foundation presented our very own Peter Smith AKA “DJ Peter” with an important achievement award at a ceremony for Harrow schools and clubs on the 12th of February.

Peter swapped his “This is what an awesome DJ looks like” t-shirt for a smart suit and tie for the event at the Watersmeet Theatre in Rickmansworth.

The Jack Petchey Foundation which aims to inspire and celebrate young people and their achievements in London and Essex awarded Peter for his outstanding skills with technology.

His ability to make sure that he and his fellow students at Harrow College get the most out of their computers and whiteboards impressed the foundation especially. Police Superintendent Tim Alexander presented Peter with his award, and Peter had his picture taken with Harrow Mayor Cllr Kareema Marikar and his classmates.

Peter had this to say about the evening, "it was a good night with my friends and to get an award. Afterwards I got to spend some time with the sound engineer in the sound booth. I would like to work one day as a sound engineer.”

Peter’s family joined him to celebrate and his Mum Carol said, "It was a proud mum moment for me, however every day I am so proud of Peter. He is kind and helpful to others both at home and when he is out. He is reliable enthusiastic and committed whenever he does a DJ gig.”
