As a community organisation we at Harrow Mencap are strongly committed to building close relationships with the diverse faith groups across Harrow and North West London.

We were delighted to engage with Muslim organisations and individuals during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan and the festival of Eid ul-Fitr as part of our Connecting Communities programme.

The Deputy Mayor of Harrow Ghazanfar Ali and Harrow Mencap CEO Deven Pillay joined with volunteers for a special Friday prayer collection at Harrow Central Mosque. We were also honoured to come back again for another collection at Eid.

We also thoroughly enjoyed holding an engagement session at Hayes Muslim Centre. It was a productive opportunity to speak to local worshippers about the support we can offer to them and their families.

The chairman of the centre praised the event, saying:

It's great to have groups like Harrow Mencap here because people in our community often need support but don't where to get it from.

We are grateful to Harrow Central Mosque, Hayes Muslim Centre and the Deputy Mayor for hosting our staff and volunteers and supporting our activities.

We look forward to working with all these organisations in future and would like to wish everyone celebrating a very happy Eid.
