This November we were proud to host the local MP for Harrow East, Bob Blackman for a Connecting Communities fundraising lunch at Pinner Green.

Twenty-five of our members and staff including our CEO Deven Pillay and Trustee Barry Pritchard attended the event. Everyone enjoyed a delicious Indian meal prepared by Dee Patel. Said did a great job as chair of the event and also provided some food for the lunch with his sister Rebekah.

We listened to Bob speak about his efforts to make sure the government does not let vulnerable people lose out because of changes to the benefit system and the switchover to Universal Credit. Bob also gave our members and staff an update on Brexit and went from table to table to answer our guests’ questions.

We were delighted to see our Connecting Communities team Jeremy Child, Emma Foss, David Stephens and Lena Hanen continuing their great work by making sure our members are aware of their rights, up-to-date on current affairs and have access to the people who make decisions about their lives.

If you would like to attend a connecting Communities event, you can see the Calendar of events on our website, or contact [email protected] for more details.
