We think healthcare should be accessible to everyone and that everybody should be treated equally.

Speak Up Now is a campaign to inspire people with learning disabilities and their carers to use their voice and experiences to educate and inform the health system and bring about change.

In November the guys gave a presentation to the Health and Wellbeing Board, talking about some surgeries' lack of awareness of annual health checks for people with LD. The presentation was a great success, with Amol Kelshiker from the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Sachin Shah leader of Harrow  Council, agreeing to work together to promote health checks.

Speak Up Now members, Priyanka and Tamsin followed this up with an email and an appeal video.  Breaking news, Sachin Shah has told us a letter has gone out to all GP surgeries in Harrow, reminding them of the importance of promoting health checks.

A big congratulations to Tamsin, Priyanka and all of the other guys for this campaigning success that has come from your hard work- onwards and upwards from here guys!
