Our mission is to work with and represent people with learning disabilities and autism and their families to ensure their needs, rights and aspirations are met

We deliver our mission by leading the way:

  • Providing quality, responsive, value for money services
  • Developing more opportunities for people to be listened to and included
  • Actively engaging with people with learning disabilities, families and the wider community
  • Campaigning to influence decision makers and bring about change
  • Trying new and different ways to support people and make our services better

Involving people who use our services is at the heart of the way we work.  People who use our services feel a strong sense of ownership in organisation because they are involved at all levels of service development and provision.

We are passionate about enabling people to have their voices heard and become active citizens.

We live our values by employing people with disabilities and engaging people with disabilities on our board management.

There are 1.4 million people in the UK with a learning disability - many of whom are excluded from society.  It's time to see people with learning disability for all they are and all they can be.

70 years on, here at Harrow Mencap we are as passionate as ever about working with and for people with learning disabilities and campaigning on important issues.  Our services bring about change.

Get involved, add your voice to ours and help change the lives of people with a learning disability in Harrow.
